A Licensed Psychologist for Your Assessment, Treatment, and Consultation Needs

Dr. Sunshine Collins obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Goucher College.  She then completed a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Loyola University Maryland before obtaining a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  She then completed her Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  Dr. Collins completed her predoctoral internship at The Chicago School Community Internship Consortium in the Chicago School Forensic Center.  She completed her postdoctoral fellowship with Dr. Gary Lenkeit in Las Vegas, Nevada.

 

In addition to being a Nevada licensed psychologist, Dr. Collins has been Secretary and Treasurer of the Nevada Psychological Association Southern Board.  Dr. Collins has worked as an adjunct professor at UNLV teaching parenting classes.  She is also a certified Disaster Mental Health Worker for the American Red Cross and provided care for individuals impacted by the 2017 mass casualty event in Las Vegas.  She has been interviewed as an expert for state and federal courts as well as for local television and international print media pieces.

 

Dr. Collins is certified by the Eighth Judicial District Family Court to provide child custody evaluations, psychological evaluations, child interviews, parental coordination services and reunification therapy.  She is certified by the Eighth Judicial District Specialty Courts, City of Las Vegas, the Henderson Municipal Court, and the Nevada federal court to provide competency to stand trial evaluations and testimony. 

 

Dr. Collins is a member of the Nevada Psychological Association, the American Psychology-Law Society, and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts.
